IMG_4565.HEIC

Maria McGough is a Piano and Music Theory teacher at the Bishopbriggs School of Music.

Maria’s first study instrument is Piano, which she has been playing for over 20 years - however, she has experience of performing and teaching many of the popular classroom instruments, such as Guitar, Voice and Drumkit.

She studied at the prestigious Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and graduated in 2017 with an Honours degree in Music Education, specialising in Piano performance. Since then, she has been working as a full-time classroom music teacher in a school in Glasgow’s east end, while also continuing her teaching commitments at the BSM.

Maria has recently embarked on her Masters degree, studying the MEd Learning and Teaching in the Arts course part-time at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. It is hoped that this further study will enhance the depth of Maria’s knowledge and bring new and innovative ideas to her lessons, both in school and at the BSM.
