Ariane Mamon — BMus, MMus
Ariane is a graduate from Berklee College of Music (BMus), where she studied vocal jazz performance and music theory, and was awarded the Berklee Achievement Scholarship for Outstanding Academic Achievement. She is also a recent graduate from the University of Edinburgh (MMus), where she studied musicology.
Originally from Paris, France, she has spent years perfecting her singing technique across many different musical genres: jazz, rock, pop, musical theatre, classical, world music.
With her deep understanding of how the voice works as an instrument, she teaches these singing techniques in a very fun and accessible way, sharing with her students the passion of discovering the powers of their own voice.
Her music has been featured on Jazz FM, BBC Radio Scotland, One Jazz, and Soho Radio, and on the 2022 jazzahead! “Scottish Jazz Playlist”. She was short-listed for the 2022 Peter Whittingham Jazz Award, and in 2023, she’s been working alongside Nimbus Sextet with performances at Ronnie Scott’s, Pizza Express Jazz Club, Kelburn Garden Party, Glasgow Jazz Festival, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and headlining last August at the Wide Days Made In Scotland Showcase in Edinburgh.
She performs with her quintet in Scotland and England with recent performances at the Rum Shack and Glad Cafe in Glasgow for the Lay Low and Jazz At The Glad jazz series, and in Aberdeen at Jazz At The Blue Lamp; and The Edinburgh Jazz Bar, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, The Hidden Door Festival, and Lancaster Jazz Festival in the last 2 years.

Bachelor of Music: Summa Cum Laude (1st) (Vocal jazz performance, jazz theory, classical theory and counterpoint, Solfege, Music History, Ethnomusicology).
Masters of Music: With Merit (2.1) (Musicology, dissertation on free improvisation).
