Gail Tay

Gail Tay is a classically-trained pianist and music director, from Singapore. She attained her Bachelor’s degree in Classical Piano Performance from LASALLE College of the Arts and became part of the academic staff at LASALLE from 2018 - 2022. She also holds a Masters in Musical Direction from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and her work has since expanded into the roles of accompanist, arranger, and conductor.


Her most recent projects include musically directing and actor-muso production Little Women at the RCS, arranging a medley for renowned theatre producer Cameron Mackintosh, arranging and conducting for RCS’s annual Christmas concert, co-music directing for an actor-musician production of The Baker’s Wife at the RCS, music directing The Spitfire Grill, and several cabarets at LASALLE and the 2022 Singapore Musical Theatre Fringe Festival.


Gail just finished working on two musicals at the 2023 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, musically directing and playing for Edges and Big Fish respectively. Gail has been teaching piano for the past 10 years, and enjoys bringing her experience of both her classical training and theatre into the classroom to inspire in her students the joy of learning and music-making.
